holiday fun

After spending a fun long weekend visiting Nana and Papa and Uncle Nate for Thanksgiving, we are settling into the Christmas season. Shopping is nearly complete, packages are wrapped and hidden and Sparkle the Elf has returned.

Each day the kids look for Sparkle and compete with one another to be the first to find him. Fortunately they find this exciting each and every morning...unfortunately, morning comes even earlier. Coincidence or not, I am not sure! We start our days around the 5 o'clock hour with Emmett making his way into our room exclaiming that he is "all done sleeping". Somehow both of our children are "morning" people! I am so thankful for COFFEE!

This past weekend we celebrated the children of our church with the children's Christmas program. Anna proudly stood up near the altar with the other preschool and kindergarten children that attend our late morning service and sang her 2 appointed songs. Fortunately they were the same as last year so we didn't have too much memorizing to do! She did a great job!

This week Anna will perform another program at her preschool, complete with lots of singing and a social hour after. With these activities and more coming up, the kids are ready for Christmas to come. In the weeks ahead we will spend time at Christmas parties, baking, time at the cabin, try to make a visit to see Santa and wrap up a few last minute gifts.

More pictures to come!
