10 Months

What's she up to these days?

Lots of fun things have been happening this past month - it seems it's been a month of many changes, some of which include the following...

Eating:

• 3 food meals/day - Anna will eat almost anything. She has had chicken, roast beef, ham, turkey, veggies, any kind of fruit, yogurt, cheese, etc. Her favorite would probably be ice cream. She's had it only once but I've never seen her so excited about any other food!!
• 3-4 bottles/day - Anna drinks about 16-20oz. of formula as well
• So...we put her on the scale earlier this week and we think she's about 17lbs! That is another pound of weight gain in the past month, fantastic!

Sleeping:

• Still going to bed around 6:30pm, but now waking up every day at 6am (or earlier)
• Morning nap is now earlier as well - around 8-8:30am and is typically 1.5 to 2 hours
• Afternoon nap still at 1pm, but is only about 1-1.5 hours

Motor Skills:

• Anna can crawl backwards (gets on her hands and knees and pushes with her arms but she moves backwards)
• Pulls herself up onto her knees, with help up to standing
• Will stand supported by hands or objects
• Loves to spin in circles on her rear (sitting up) or tummy
• Likes to find the very tiniest things to pick them up with her thumb and pointer finger

Communication:

• Says "hi"
• Continues to say "dada" often, and "mama" sometimes
• Imitates the following animals (in her own way): lion, monkey, kitty
• Waves "hi", still points at things every once in awhile
• Screams in frustration (loudly)
• Capable of having temper tantrums that I thought we wouldn't experience until age 2 - I was wrong
• Giggles often
• Loves to be the center of attention

Other:

• Loves any kind of toy - particularly those that she can manipulate
• Loves all books, into the books with flaps that she can pull and with music
• Favorite game is peek-a-boo - Anna hides behind her hands until you "find" her
• Loves all children, and dogs
• Ticklish in her left armpit and her feet
