another month gone by

Yet another month has passed. We are now steadily creeping upon 2 years old, in both age and actions. This month has been another exciting one, characterized by the following:

• Your personality is blossoming...this month if I could describe you in two words they would be funny & feisty!
• Your vocabulary is growing every day, my favorite word as of late is balloon, which you pronounce "ba-la-la-loon".
• You love to play outside, and to go to the park. We haven't had as many opportunities this month as you would like, but we have taken advantage of the outdoors as often as possible.

• Your temper tantrums have escalated a bit, much to my dismay. This week you had one that lasted a full 5 mins and involved pacing, screaming, pulling things off shelves, crying and more yelling. I can't believe that much emotion can be packed into little you!
• This month you like to be carried a lot. Perhaps it's the teething, or just the age, but you have a sudden desire to be carried and held for the majority of the day.
• You have become quite good at bargaining. Whenever it's time to leave a neighbor's house, leave the park, head up for a nap - your bargaining begins. "Mommy, swing one more time?", "Mommy, pay (play) house just lil' bit?" I can only imagine what these conversations will look like in another 10 years!

• You gained some weight! You are now somewhere in the neighborhood of 22lbs, and gaining.
• You have a total of 8 teeth - 6 of which are on the top. It appears that ALL of your teeth on the bottom may come through at the same time. I think this is beginning to cause great discomfort for you.
• You now say "please", "thank you", "excuse me" and "you're welcome", although most of the time you mix up when to use them. It's pretty adorable!
  
  


• This month is also marked by the time you spent with grandparents. A visit home from Granka & Grandma Penny, a visit to see Nana & Papa - and great grandparents there, and time with Grandma Minnie. You continue to look forward to the time you spend with all of these people who love you dearly. It's great for us and for them to see your face light up when you see them!

With each passing month we fall in love with you even more. You light up our lives, and the lives of so many. With Mother's Day fast approaching, I find myself so lucky to call myself your mom. You make me proud every single day, and you bring more joy and love into my life than I ever could have imagined.
