pretending

One of Anna's favorite games to play lately is "pretend night-night". This game takes on a variety of forms, but the theme is generally the same. Anna pretends to go to sleep by laying on the floor for a few seconds and saying "night night". She then will insist that you too go "night night" when she dictates, and then wake up when she dictates. If you "sleep" longer than she would like, she will just grab you by the hair and make you get up. If you do not go to sleep when she wants you to, she will grab your arm and drag it to the floor.

This "pretend" game started a few weeks back, but has evolved this week. Now, her toys and animals must participate as well. Notice in this picture that all animals are on their side, even her sippy cup. Each item was carefully selected, called by name (or animal noise) and then laid to sleep by Anna.

The game continues when Anna joins the crew, going "night night" herself.

A few seconds later Anna will pop up, select one item, call it by name and move it approximately 12 inches in one direction and start all over. This goes on (and on) until everyone has had several mini-naps.

Amazing...simly amazing to me, that she will place other objects in a sleep position on their side.
Her little brain is working overtime. This is so....well, amazing!
Papa would enjoy playing this game with her but she'd be hard-pressed to wake him some times!
